Handing off the editing gave Rachel her time back, made her uploads consistent and turned YouTube into a source of coaching clients.

When Rachel from Henley Fitness and I started working together, her YouTube channel had around 18,000 subscribers. Today it has more than 80,000, and it brings in clients for her app and her 1:1 coaching.
Nothing about that growth was luck. It came down to two things: posting consistently, and an edit that keeps people watching. Here’s how it worked.
Rachel already knew YouTube could work for her business. The problem was time. Editing was eating into the hours she needed for her clients, and she wanted that time back.
She also didn’t want to send her footage to an anonymous editor overseas. Like most of the people I work with, she wanted someone she could build a proper working relationship with, who understood her industry and her audience.
That part was easy. I’ve worked in the fitness industry for around ten years, so I already know the language, the training and the kind of content that lands with people who want to get fitter.
Rachel films her own videos, which keeps them personal and easy to fit around her week. I advise on the filming side, so the footage that comes to me has what the edit needs. From there I handle the rest:
One long-form video, cut to hold attention from the first second.
Vertical clips cut from the long-form video, so every upload works harder.
Designed with the edit, so the packaging and the video make the same promise.
What to capture, so the edit has everything it needs.
Before, uploads depended on how busy Rachel was that month. Now a new video goes out every week, whatever her diary looks like. YouTube rewards channels that show up regularly, and so do viewers. If you’re weighing up the same move, read what to look for when hiring a YouTube editor.
Quick cuts, music, B-roll and motion graphics give viewers something new to look at every few seconds, without getting in the way of what Rachel is saying. More on that in how to keep people watching your YouTube videos.
The channel has grown from around 18,000 to more than 80,000 subscribers. More importantly for the business, it’s now a good earner in its own right and a steady source of new clients for Rachel’s app and 1:1 coaching.
